Right, so, it's been a long road since the Conceptual Launch, and I've written tons of stuff here to help bring everyone up to speed on what DeeTwenty is all about. We're three days away from opening our doors, so I reckon it's time for a quick summary of stuff you need to know about DeeTwenty before we open.
What Is DeeTwenty?
DeeTwenty is an exclusive geeking venue in the heart of Randburg. What does that mean? It means that no matter what kind of geek you are (or even if you're just geek-friendly, a closet geek or some kind of geek-adjacent thing) you can come down to the club and get your geek on.
There are no real limits to the kind of geeking you can get up to here. Bring your boardgames, your laptop, your Nerf guns, your cosplay gear, you name it. All geeks are welcome.
We also provide bottomless coffee and WiFi, so... there's that.
How Do I Use the Facility?
The short answer is: just show up and geek. As long as we're open, you're welcome to come down and join us.
If you're an infrequent visitor, a Day Pass will get you in for the day for R45. More regular visitors can buy monthly memberships that get you discounted access and extra features.
If you have an event you'd like to host at the club, either within or outside our usual business hours, you can make a booking and we'll do what we can to help you pull your event off.
What Do Memberships Cost, and What Do They Get Me?
There are two kinds of memberships: Full and Affiliate.
Full Members get unlimited access to the club during Open Sessions, access to our bottomless WiFi and free booking for events. (Booking will sometimes have a cost for non-members) . That costs you R290 per month. If you're using the club three or more times a week, that comes to less than R25 a day.
Affiliate Members are geeks who belong to one of our Affiliate Groups. They get the same benefits as Full Members, but only on one day a week (which day is determined by the Affiliate they belong to). Affiliate Memberships cost R150 per month.
Memberships can be changed from month to month, and there's no long-term commitment. We accept payment in cash at the door, or via EFT (contact us for the details). For memberships to be active for a month, we need to receive payment before the 5th of that month, otherwise you're going to be Day-Passing it for the next few weeks.
To sign up for a membership, just fill in the form and we'll send you the extra info you might need. Make the payment and you're all set!
When is The Venue Open?
From the 2nd of November onwards, our official operating hours are as follows:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 16:00 to 23:00
Saturday and Public Holidays: 09:00 to 17:00
Sunday: 09:00 to 14:00
Those are our standard open sessions. Special events will happen during those hours, and sometimes outside of them. Keep an eye on our Calendar as well as our Google+ and Facebook pages for event invites and notifications.
Are There Rules For Using the Club?
Yup, but nothing too hectic. We have a Code of Conduct that basically boils down to "Don't be a dick." We also welcome kids of all ages to the club: They pay the same entrance fee and follow the same rules as everyone else.
What Else Do I Need To Know?
Um... I dunno. I've got all the info you need in my head, though. So if you can't find the answer to your question on this site, please feel free to drop a comment below or get in touch with me directly.
